Added the fabric for the foreground hill so I am ready for my next RSN diploma lesson on Tuesday! #rsndiploma
Had a bit of a tidy in the studio today as there was just embroidery stuff all over the place. Not sharing my desk as it is still an explosion of anything stumpwork related. My little cosy corner looks all nice and tidy though, perfect for reading some embroidery magazines and books and listening to some records. #embroiderystudio
Final delivery (for the moment ๐Ÿ˜‰) of embroidery goodies for my stumpwork project. These ones are from @goldenhindegoldwork. I used their translucent thread quite a lot in my applique project and it is brilliant to stitch with so I got a few more colours for this project. I also got some tiny sequins for Sir Guyโ€™s clothes and some black felt for his padding. #embroidery
Lovely goodies arrived from @jennyadinchristie today ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Some fine silk gimp, metalic mesh ribbon and fettucini ribbon in the most perfect colours for my stumpwork project. As Jenny sells the best curved needles out there (in my opinion at least) I, of course, added a couple to my order as well as one of her beautiful purl cutting trays. #embroidery
Stitched down the fabric for the back hill today and the felt padding for the front hill. Hopefully the fabric I ordered for it will arrive tomorrow so I can stitch that down as well. If not, I can practice my finger and hand making. Next online C&D class booked for a week on Tuesday as got lots of questions about making my figures. Canโ€™t wait to start stitching those and see how they will turn out! #rsndiploma
Some more beautiful thread-goodness arrived today, this time from @olivertwistsfibres ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ So much variety and perfect colours for my project! #rsndiploma
Look at this wonderful selection of @artfiberendoky threads, which I bought from @masakonewtonembroidery ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I got three packs of textured threads as well as some chenille and linen threads. These are just perfect for my stumpwork project. I have actually visited the Art Fiber Endo shop in Kyoto when we were in Japan two years ago. I just wish I had anticipated the projects I would be making and all the threads I could use for it. So glad Masako has imported them to Europe, but when I go back to Japan, I will definitely pay them another visit. #rsndiploma
I have cut some felt templates of my figures so I could get a better feel of their dimensions and so I can work out a padding plan.
Made a start with my RSN diploma stumpwork project! So happy I finally got my stitching mojo back to make a proper start on it.
