Today is the 31st of December. Besides being the last day of 2017 it is also the last day of the first year of the Stitching Sheep and what a year it has been!

I am so glad I have taken the plunge last year to launch the Stitching Sheep’s blog and social media accounts. I have enjoyed every minute of it and most of all I have enjoyed your likes, reactions and comments and meeting so many like-minded people. I loved hearing “oh, you are the Stitching Sheep!” and “I have read your blog” when I have been meeting people.

In this post I would like to share the Stitching Sheep’s highlights of 2017:

  • Making lots of Ed’s animals after having not crocheted for over 10 years. (There are posts about Simon & Seth)

  • Going to Australia (which was amazing in itself and we can’t wait to get back!) and visiting so many gorgeous embroidery shops over there.

When seeing all of these pictures together I can’t really believe they all happened in the same year!

I would really also like to share some figures with you. Not to brag, but to show my amazement in how much the Stitching Sheep has grown since the 1st of January this year. I had never in my wildest dreams imagined I would gain so many followers whom I didn’t know beforehand!

My website has 35 followers and nearly 3200 visitors have produced over 11.000 views. My most popular posts have been the shop and book reviews (Australia, Alison Cole & Helen Richman), the how-to’s (slate frame bag & my embroidery workbag) but also my post on my stump- and ribbonwork project has gained a lot of views. So I guess I know what I need to post more of next year!

The Stitching Sheep’s Instagram account has gained 270 followers within the year. You can see the posts which achieved the most likes in the main picture above. It shows that my Ed’s animal makes are surely proving very popular. But I am really happy to also see an embroidery image in there too (even though it has me in it as well ;-)). It surprised me though that my purchase of the DMC collector’s tin with their new threads was so popular it made it into the best nine!

The Stitching Sheep’s Facebook page has gained 62 followers and it’s Twitter account 28.

They might not sound like huge numbers but they mean a lot to me as I have been able to share my makes, tips and tricks with a lot of you and certainly more than I would have ever imagined!

Thank you all of my followers, likers, and commenters! I wish you a lovely Hogmanay and all the best for 2018 and hope to hear from you again soon!

    1. Happy New Year Wendy! That is great, and thank you for following me! I didn’t know that not all followers show up in the stats. That shows how new I am in all of this. I hadn’t heard of Feedly before. Do they do keep track of stats as well?

  1. Well done! A great review. You’ve certainly got the blogging touch. 🙂

I know what you mean when you meet people who know your feeds – I enjoyed the same warm glow at a show back in November. I plan to get my nlog back up and powering forward this year.

    🙂

So much looking forward to our trip and being back at the RSN in February. Will try and write a looking forward post later today so you will definitely get a mention!

      1. I am going back to work tomorrow, so I am trying to have nice relaxing and lazy day today, but I am so excited too about the crafty things happening in 2018, so I’d like to do a post… I’ll see if I can write one from the comfort of the sofa! Are your parents over from Australia? What did they think of the RSN?

      2. Sounds like a lovely plan for the day! My parents are here from Australia- it’s a bit cold for them I think 😊 they did enjoy the visit to the RSN and it was nice to be able to show them too
